Help CenterYes. Classes your student is working on are automatically pinned under the In Progress tab. Your student does not have to search through the full Homeschool Pro class library every time they want to continue their coursework.
Once the student begins completing lessons in a class, that course normally appears under In Progress. Selecting In Progress on the My Classes page shows only the student’s current classes.
This is the equivalent of selecting, saving, favoriting, or pinning courses. 
Select In Progress to view only the classes the student has started.
How Do I Add Classes to In Progress?
Parents do not need to formally assign or pin classes inside the platform.
The parent can choose the classes, the student can help choose them, or they can decide together. Once the student begins completing lessons in a selected class, it will be added to In Progress.
For example, the student’s In Progress list might include:
- 7th Grade Math
- 7th Grade ELA
- 7th Grade Science
- 7th Grade Social Studies
- Spanish
- Art
After those courses appear under In Progress, the student can use that filter whenever they want to continue their current classes.
Is There a Pin, Favorite, or Save Button?
There is no separate Pin, Favorite, or Save Course button.
The In Progress filter serves that purpose automatically. Once progress has been made in a class, it is grouped with the student’s other current courses.
This gives the student a shorter course list while keeping the full curriculum library available whenever the family wants to:
- Begin another core class
- Add an elective
- Review an earlier grade level
- Move ahead in a strong subject
- Explore a new interest
- Change the student’s course plan
Does Opening a Class Add It to In Progress?
Simply opening a class to look at its description or lesson list does not normally add it to In Progress.
The student must begin completing lessons in the course.
This allows families to preview available classes without immediately adding every class they inspect to the student’s current course list.
What If My Student Started a Class but It Is Not Showing Under In Progress?
In most cases, a class appears under In Progress after the student begins completing lessons.
In some longer classes, completing only one short lesson may represent such a small amount of the course that it does not appear under In Progress immediately.
After the student has made a little more progress (by completing additional lessons), the class should appear in the In Progress list.
How Do I Remove a Class From In Progress?
If the student accidentally began a class they do not plan to take, you can usually remove it from In Progress by resetting the completed lessons.
To reset the class:
- Open the class.
- Find a lesson the student completed.
- Open the completed lesson.
- Select Mark Incomplete under the video player.
- Repeat this for every completed lesson in the class.
- Return to My Classes and refresh the page.
Once all completed lessons have been marked incomplete, the class should no longer appear under In Progress.
Important: If the student completed a quiz or exam in the class, that assessment cannot be marked incomplete through the student account. Please contact your Homeschool Advisor for assistance.
Why Does My Student See So Many Classes?
Homeschool Pro provides broad access to the curriculum rather than limiting each student to a small, locked list of courses.
Students in kindergarten through 8th grade generally receive access to:
- Their assigned grade level
- One grade level below
- One grade level above
- A large selection of electives and additional classes
For example, a student registered in 7th grade will generally see:
- 6th-grade classes
- 7th-grade classes
- 8th-grade classes
- Additional electives
High school students generally receive access to all available high school classes so families can select courses according to:
- Credits already earned
- Graduation requirements
- Course prerequisites
- Academic strengths
- College or career plans
- Student interests
The complete library is not the student’s required course list. It shows the classes available to the student.
Once the appropriate courses have been started, selecting In Progress displays only the classes the student is currently taking.
Does My Student Have to Complete Every Class Shown?
No. Your student is not expected to complete every course visible in the account.
A student may see dozens of available classes but take only the courses selected for their homeschool plan.
For example, a 7th-grade student might take:
- 7th Grade Math
- 7th Grade ELA
- 7th Grade Science
- 7th Grade Social Studies
- Two electives
The other classes remain available as options. Access to a class does not mean that it has been assigned or must be completed.
Who Chooses the Student’s Classes?
The parent should guide the student’s course plan and decide which classes the student should take.
Students can also help choose electives based on their interests.
Once the student starts those classes, they appear under In Progress.

- Choosing appropriate classes
- Selecting the right grade level for each subject
- Reviewing previous coursework
- Planning high school courses and credits
- Preparing for graduation
Homeschool Advisor support is optional and available whenever you need guidance.
Can My Student Add Another Class Later?
Yes. The student can begin another available class at any time.
Once enough progress has been made in the new course, it will appear under In Progress with the student’s other current classes.
This may be helpful when:
- The student finishes another course
- The family adds an elective
- The student needs review from an earlier grade
- The student is ready for more advanced material
- The family changes the course plan
- A new class is added to Homeschool Pro
Families do not need to choose every class at the beginning of the school year.
What Do the Class Filters Mean?
The My Classes page includes filters that make it easier to organize the student’s available courses.
All
Shows every class available in the student’s account.
Use this view when looking for a new class.
Not Started
Shows classes the student has not begun.
These are available options, not required courses.
In Progress
Shows classes the student has started but not completed.
This is the best view for finding the student’s current courses.
Completed
Shows classes the student has finished.
Eligible completed courses may also receive certificates in the student’s individual Certificate Portal.
Does Each Child Have Their Own In Progress List?
Yes. Every child receives their own student account and dashboard.
Even when one family membership covers multiple children, each student has:
- Their own login
- Their own available classes
- Their own In Progress list
- Their own lesson progress
- Their own quiz and assignment activity
- Their own completed courses
- Their own Certificate Portal
Siblings should always use their own student accounts so their classes and progress remain separate.
What If I Cannot Find a Class We Saw Before Purchasing?
First, make sure the student is signed in to the correct account.
Then:
- Open My Classes.
- Select All or Not Started.
- Use the class search field.
- Search using part of the course name rather than the complete title.
- Check the grade levels currently available to the student.
A class will not appear under In Progress until the student has begun completing lessons in it.
If the class or grade level is not available in the student’s account, please contact us and include:
- The student’s full name
- The student’s @remotelearning.school email address
- The class or grade level requested
Can Classes or Grade Levels Be Removed?
Yes. Parents may contact us to request that classes or grade levels they do not need be removed from the student’s account.
In most cases, this is not necessary because selecting In Progress already gives the student a shorter list containing only the classes they are currently taking.
Removing access may be helpful when a student continues returning to unrelated courses or finds the broader library distracting even after learning how to use the filters.
The Bottom Line
Your student does not have to scroll through the complete Homeschool Pro class library every time they want to do schoolwork.
To create a shorter current course list:
- Decide which classes the student will take.
- Have the student begin completing lessons in each selected class.
- Open My Classes.
- Select In Progress.
- Continue the student’s current courses from that filtered list.
There is no separate pin, save, favorite, or assignment button. The In Progress filter automatically brings the classes the student is working on together in one place.
The full curriculum library remains available whenever the family wants to add another class, while In Progress keeps the student’s current courses easy to find.
