No. RemoteLearning.School does not provide or ship laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, printers, or other computer equipment.

A Homeschool Pro membership provides the online curriculum and homeschool services, including teacher-led classes, worksheets, Study Guides, student ID cards, certificates, student email accounts, applicable instructor grading, and Homeschool Advisor support. The device and internet connection used to access the program are provided by the family.

Do We Need to Purchase a Special Computer?

Usually not. Homeschool Pro works on most current devices that can connect to the internet, use a modern web browser, and play online videos.

Students can use:

  • A Windows laptop or desktop computer
  • A Mac or MacBook
  • A Chromebook
  • An iPad
  • An Android tablet

You do not need an expensive or high-performance computer. Many families can use a device they already own.

Can My Student Use a Smartphone?

Homeschool Pro can be accessed from a smartphone, so a phone may work temporarily while traveling or when another device is unavailable.

However, we do not recommend using a smartphone as the student’s main learning device. The smaller screen can make it harder to:

  • Watch detailed lesson videos
  • Navigate through longer classes
  • Read worksheets and Study Guides
  • Complete quizzes and assignments
  • View charts, diagrams, and PDF materials

A laptop, desktop computer, Chromebook, or tablet will provide a more comfortable experience for regular schoolwork.

What Else Will My Student Need?

In addition to a compatible device, your student will generally need:

  • A reliable internet or Wi-Fi connection
  • A current web browser, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari
  • Working speakers or headphones
  • The ability to open PDF files

A printer can be helpful for worksheets, but it is not required. Most downloadable materials can also be viewed on the device, and students can write their answers in a notebook or on separate paper.

What If We Do Not Have a Suitable Device?

Contact your local public library and ask whether it offers:

  • Laptop, Chromebook, or tablet lending
  • Public computers that can be reserved
  • Wi-Fi hotspot lending
  • Technology assistance programs

You can also check with local community centers, nonprofit organizations, homeschool associations, and refurbished or low-cost computer programs.

Availability and eligibility vary by location. These programs are independent of RemoteLearning.School, so we cannot guarantee or arrange equipment through them.

Can Siblings Share One Device?

Yes. More than one student can use the same computer or tablet as long as they take turns.

Each student should sign in with their own Homeschool Pro account. Be sure to sign out before the next student begins so that lessons, quizzes, assignments, and course progress are recorded under the correct account.
