Step 1: Check Your Email for the Card Invitation
RemoteLearning.School will send you an official email invitation when your student’s digital ID card is ready to activate. You can expect to receive this email within 7 days of registering.
Important Notes:
- The student ID card activation email is separate from the email with your student’s class login information.
- Your student’s class login information usually arrives within 2 to 3 business days after registering.
- The digital student ID card activation email may arrive shortly after the class login email.
- If you have more than one student in your account, you will receive a separate activation email for each student.
- Each invitation is connected to one specific student, so make sure you use the correct invitation for the student whose ID card you are activating.
- Didn’t receive the email? Check your spam or junk folder.
If it has been more than 7 days since you registered and you still have not received the student ID card activation email, please contact us for assistance.

Step 2: Download the ID123 App
In the invitation email, tap the “App Store” (for iPhone) or "Google Play" (for Android) button. You’ll be redirected to the download page for your device. Install the ID123 app, then return to the same invitation email on your phone.
Note: If you are reading the email on a computer, you can scan the QR code in the invitation with your phone instead. Open your phone’s camera, point it at the QR code, and tap the link that appears.
Step 3: Tap "Activate student ID card" in the email
Once you’ve installed the app, return to the invitation email and tap the “Activate student ID card” button. This action will open the ID123 app and begin the activation process for your student’s digital ID card. Be sure to open the email on the same mobile device where you installed the ID123 app.
Important Notes:
- For the first-time setup, do not open the ID123 app directly and tap Sign In. The student ID card must first be activated using the button in the invitation email.
- If you are viewing the email on a computer, you can scan the QR code with your phone instead. Open your phone’s camera, point it at the QR code, and tap the link that appears.
- If you see an Email Confirmation popup, tap Yes, register to continue.

Step 4: Enter the student's email address
At the Security Questions screen, tap the field that says "Enter your email address for verification." Enter the student's @remotelearning.school email address, then tap Submit. After that, tap Next.
Important Reminder:
At this step, you must enter the student's @remotelearning.school email address, not the parent (your) email address that received the activation email.
This is the same email address your student uses to log in to Homeschool Pro. It was included in the student login information you received 2 to 3 business days after registering.
Example:
If your student's Homeschool Pro username is:
joshsmith@remotelearning.school
that is the email address you should enter here.
Tip: You can also find the student’s email address in the activation email.
In the activation email, look below the Activate student ID card button and QR code. You will see a section labeled Email Address. Use the student’s @remotelearning.school email shown there.
If You Have More Than One Student:
If you have more than one student enrolled, make sure you enter the email address for the correct student whose ID card you are activating.

Step 5: Upload Photo (Optional)
Tap "Add Photo" to upload your student's photo. You will be prompted to take a photo with your phone camera, or to use an existing photo. Tap "Accept" if satisfied with the photo, or tap "Change" to re-take or to use a different photo.

Step 6: Review student information
Review the student information shown on the screen before continuing. This information includes the student's full name, grade level, and state.
The student’s Full Name is locked and cannot be changed in the app. If the name is incorrect, please contact us for assistance.
Add a Personal Touch:
You will also see a few optional fields your student can fill out, such as Favorite Subject, Sports & Activities, Future Goal, and Student Motto. These fields are a fun way to personalize the digital ID card and make it feel more like your student. You can let your student answer them, fill them out together, or leave them blank.
Step 7: Add the Student Signature (Required)
On the Add Your Signature screen, select Draw. Your student can use their finger to draw their signature directly on the screen. After the signature is added, tap Save Signature. A signature is required in order to activate the card.
The signature does not need to be perfect. It should simply be the student’s own signature or written name. For younger students who are still learning to write, a simple scribble, initials, or parent-assisted signature is perfectly fine.
Final Step
After saving the student signature, tap Submit to finish activating the digital ID card.
Once submitted, your student’s ID card will be added to the ID123 app.
Congratulations! Your student’s digital ID card is now ready to use.
