How do I set up a parental monitor for my kid's @RemoteLearning.school Email Account

You can monitor the messages sent to your student’s @remotelearning.school email account by setting up an optional email forwarder.

The forwarder sends a copy of each incoming message to a parent email address you choose. This gives homeschool parents a simple way to keep an eye on school communications while the student continues using their own inbox. You only need to complete the setup once for each student account.

Before You Begin

Have the following information ready:

  • Your student’s full @remotelearning.school email address
  • Your student’s email password
  • The parent email address where you want to receive copies of incoming messages

The password is case-sensitive. If you have not received your student’s email login information, please contact info@remotelearning.school for assistance.

How to Set Up the Parent Email Forwarder

  1. Open a web browser and go to:

    https://remotelearning.school/webmail

  2. Sign in using your student’s email account.

In the Email Address field, enter the full address, including @remotelearning.school.

    Example:

    jmoore@remotelearning.school

  3. Enter the student’s password, then select Log in.

Webmail login screen

  1. On the Webmail home screen, find the Manage Your Inbox section.
  2. Select Forwarders.
  3. Select Add Forwarder.
  4. In the Destination or Forward to Email Address field, enter the parent email address where you want copies of the student’s incoming messages sent.
  5. Select Add Forwarder to save the setting.
  6. Select Go Back when the confirmation appears.

Add a New Forwarder screen

Your parental email monitor is now set up.

Test the Email Forwarder

After setting up the forwarder, send a test message to your student’s @remotelearning.school email address from another email account.

Then check the parent email address you entered as the destination. The forwarded copy should arrive there.

Tip: Check the parent account’s spam or junk folder if the test message does not appear in the inbox.

What Does the Parent Email Forwarder Monitor?

The forwarder sends the parent a copy of messages received by the student’s school email account.

It does not automatically send the parent copies of messages the student sends. It is designed to help parents monitor incoming email, not to provide a complete record of all activity within the account.

What If I Have More Than One Student?

The forwarder must be set up separately for each student.

Sign in to each student’s @remotelearning.school email account and repeat the steps above. You may use the same parent email address as the destination for each student.

What If Forwarded Emails Are Not Arriving?

Try the following:

  1. Check the spam or junk folder in the parent email account.
  2. Confirm that the destination email address was entered correctly.
  3. Send another test message to the student’s full @remotelearning.school address.
  4. Sign back in to the student’s Webmail account and confirm that the forwarder appears under Forwarders.
  5. Contact us if the forwarded messages still do not arrive.

When contacting support, include the student’s full name, their @remotelearning.school email address, and the parent email address that should receive the forwarded copies.
