Help CenterHomeschool Pro does not take daily attendance or require students to sign in at a specific time. Lessons are pre-recorded and self-paced, so families can decide when their students learn and create a homeschool schedule that works for them.
Students can complete classes in the morning, afternoon, evening, or on different days of the week. There is no live roll call or required daily check-in.
Do Parents Need to Keep Attendance Records?
That depends on your state’s homeschool requirements and your family’s recordkeeping preferences.
Some families are required to document school days or instructional time. Other parents choose to keep attendance records even when they are not required, since the records can be helpful for personal organization, yearly portfolios, or future school documentation.
Because homeschool requirements vary by state, check the rules that apply to your family. You can also contact your Homeschool Advisor for help understanding what records you may need.
Important: Homeschool Pro provides the online homeschool curriculum, but parents are responsible for maintaining any attendance records required by their state.
How Can I Track Homeschool Attendance?
A simple spreadsheet is usually all you need.
You may want to include columns for:
- Date
- Student’s name
- Present or school day completed
- Subjects or lessons completed
- Instructional hours, if your state requires them
- Notes
You can use one spreadsheet tab for each student or create a separate sheet for each school year.
Try to update the record daily or weekly so you do not have to recreate several months of attendance later.
Can I Get an Attendance Template?
Yes. Contact your Homeschool Advisor and ask for a homeschool attendance template.
You can use the template as provided or adjust it to include any additional information required by your state or preferred by your family.
Does a Flexible Schedule Still Count as Attendance?
Homeschool Pro does not require a traditional Monday through Friday schedule. Families may organize their school days in the way that works best for them, as long as they follow any attendance or instructional-time requirements that apply in their state.
This flexibility allows students to complete their Homeschool Pro lessons around appointments, extracurricular activities, travel, work schedules, and other family needs.
