Some families use Homeschool Pro as their complete K-12 online homeschool curriculum. Others use only a few classes for extra practice, electives, advanced work, or subjects they do not want to teach themselves. You are free to take as many or as few classes as your student needs.
How Can I Use Homeschool Pro With Another Curriculum?
You might use Homeschool Pro to:
- Add teacher-led instruction for a difficult subject
- Review concepts your student has not fully mastered
- Provide more advanced work in a strong subject
- Add electives such as music, art, languages, STEM, or personal finance
- Supplement a textbook-based or offline curriculum
- Provide additional practice during the school year
- Continue learning during summer or school breaks
For example, your student could continue using their current math and language arts curriculum while taking science, music, and entrepreneurship classes through Homeschool Pro.
Your student is not required to complete every class available in their account.
Can We Mix Several Homeschool Resources?
Yes. Many families take a flexible or hybrid homeschool approach by combining resources from several places, such as:
- Online homeschool classes
- Printed textbooks and workbooks
- Educational websites
- Tutors
- Homeschool co-ops
- Local classes and activities
- Parent-created lessons
Homeschool Pro can be one part of that plan. You can choose the resources that work best for each child and each subject rather than using one curriculum for everything.
Can We Use the Other Homeschool Pro Features?
Yes. Even when Homeschool Pro is not your primary curriculum, your family can still use the membership features available to you, including:
- Support from a dedicated Homeschool Advisor
- Help with homeschool forms and planning
- Digital student ID cards
- @remotelearning.school student email accounts
- Course completion certificates
- Help organizing transcripts and student records
- Instructor grading for applicable Homeschool Pro assignments
Your Homeschool Advisor can also help you document coursework completed through other curriculum providers and incorporate it into your student’s education plan or transcript.
Helpful recordkeeping tip: When using several curriculum sources, keep a record of each course’s title, provider, dates, grade, credits, and completed work. This makes it much easier to prepare transcripts and other homeschool records later.
Can We Use More of the Curriculum Later?
Yes. Your family can adjust how you use Homeschool Pro at any time.
You might begin with one supplemental class and later add more subjects. You could also use Homeschool Pro as your main curriculum one year and as a supplement the next.
The program is designed to give parents control over their homeschool plan rather than requiring every family to use the same combination of classes.
