LearnAdventure™ is an interactive, story-based learning feature inside Homeschool Pro. Instead of only answering questions on a standard quiz, students enter an adventure where their knowledge and decisions determine what happens next.
A student might use place value skills to defeat a dragon, investigate a vandalism case by identifying parts of speech, contain a chemistry emergency, or use historical knowledge to help someone accused during the Salem witch trials. Each decision requires the student to apply real curriculum content.
LearnAdventures are designed to reinforce and deepen what students learn through their teacher-led video lessons. Several are already included throughout the Homeschool Pro curriculum, with additional adventures being developed across grade levels and subjects.

How Does a LearnAdventure Work?
Each LearnAdventure contains a series of connected scenes.
At each scene, the student is presented with:
- A situation within the story
- A curriculum-based question or challenge
- A set of possible answers or decisions
The student’s choice determines what happens next. Correct answers move the adventure forward. Incorrect answers may lead to a helpful hint, a warning, or occasionally an outcome that requires the student to restart. Some adventures also include more than one path to a successful ending.
Step 1: Begin the Adventure
Every LearnAdventure begins with an introduction that explains the setting, the student’s role, and the mission.
When the student is ready, they select Start below the introductory picture.
For example, the student may take on the role of:
- A hero traveling through an enchanted kingdom
- A detective investigating a mystery
- A scientist responding to an emergency
- A juror evaluating courtroom testimony
- A historical figure making decisions in another time period
Step 2: Make a Choice
Each scene presents one or more answer choices below the picture. The student selects an answer to continue the story.
The choice they make shapes what happens next, so students are applying what they learned rather than simply memorizing an answer.
Tip: If all the answer choices are not visible, scroll farther down the page.

Students select a curriculum-based answer to determine what happens next in the story.
What Happens If My Student Chooses the Wrong Answer?
A wrong answer is often treated as another learning opportunity.
Many incorrect choices lead to a hint or warning scene. A guide or character explains the concept using clear examples, then directs the student to select Go Back and try the question again.
This gives the student:
- Immediate feedback
- Another explanation of the concept
- A chance to reconsider the question
- An opportunity to correct the answer and continue
The student does not have to understand everything perfectly on the first attempt.

Hints and warning scenes explain the concept before the student returns to try again.
What Is a Critical Error?
In some LearnAdventures, a particularly important incorrect decision may lead to a Critical Error.
This is intentional. It demonstrates the possible consequence of making that mistake within the scenario. The student can select Restart below the picture and begin the adventure again. Critical Errors are rare and are part of the learning experience.
For example, an incorrect decision during a chemistry emergency might cause the simulated situation to become unsafe. Restarting gives the student another opportunity to apply what they learned and make a better decision.
Can a LearnAdventure Have Different Outcomes?
Yes. Depending on the choices made throughout the story, a student may reach different positive or negative outcomes.
Both types of outcomes are educational. Students can restart the adventure and make different choices to see whether they can reach another ending.
This encourages students to think about:
- Why a decision worked or did not work
- How academic knowledge applies to a realistic situation
- What they might do differently on another attempt
- How several correct decisions can work together

Students may reach different outcomes based on the choices they make.
How Does My Student Complete a LearnAdventure?
When the student reaches the final scene, they have two options:
- Select Complete & Continue at the bottom of the page to mark the lesson complete and move to the next lesson.
- Select Restart below the picture to play again, make different choices, or explore another possible outcome.
Why Are LearnAdventures Helpful?
LearnAdventures are designed to make review more active and memorable.
Instead of only asking students to recall a definition or select an isolated answer, the adventure places that knowledge inside a story. The student must use what they learned to solve a problem, investigate a mystery, manage a situation, or complete a mission.
Their knowledge drives the outcome, helping turn curriculum concepts into experiences that are easier to understand and remember.
LearnAdventures work alongside Homeschool Pro’s video lessons. They reinforce the instruction rather than replacing it.
What Subjects Include LearnAdventures?
LearnAdventures are being developed across different grade levels and subjects.
The available selection will continue to grow as more LearnAdventures are added to Homeschool Pro.
Are LearnAdventures Just Quizzes?
No. LearnAdventures may include questions and answer choices, but they are designed differently from standard quizzes.
A traditional quiz usually presents a series of separate questions. A LearnAdventure connects the questions through one continuing story. Each answer affects the scenario, and students may receive hints, encounter consequences, follow different paths, or reach different endings.
This makes LearnAdventure™ another way Homeschool Pro combines curriculum review with active, story-based learning.
