The Homeschool Pro Student Certificate Portal is designed to keep each student’s course certificates organized, accessible, and verifiable in one place.
Most access issues are caused by using the parent email address instead of the student’s official @remotelearning.school email address, signing in to the wrong sibling’s account, or checking the portal before the student has completed an eligible course.
Use the questions and troubleshooting steps below if you cannot access the portal, do not see an expected certificate, or have trouble using one of its features.
See What the Certificate Portal Can Do
Before troubleshooting, here is a quick look at what the Student Certificate Portal can offer once certificates have been issued.
In this video, three Homeschool Pro siblings use the portal in different ways. The younger student proudly views and prints his certificate, his sister personalizes her profile with her own photo and banner, and their older brother adds an Aerospace Engineering certificate to LinkedIn as part of his developing digital resume.
See how one Homeschool Pro family uses certificates to celebrate achievements, personalize student profiles, print accomplishments, and build toward future goals.
The troubleshooting sections below can help if your family is unable to access or use one of these features.
Quick Answers
Which email address should I use?
Use the student’s official @remotelearning.school email address.
Do not use:
- The parent email used to purchase the membership
- A personal Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, or other email address
- Another sibling’s RemoteLearning.School email address
Certificates and verification codes are connected to the individual student account.
When will certificates appear?
Certificates appear automatically after the student completes an eligible Homeschool Pro course.
If the student is new or has not completed a course yet, the portal may remain empty until the first certificate is issued.
Do certificates expire?
No. Certificates do not expire.
They remain accessible in the portal and can continue to be viewed, downloaded, printed, shared, and verified online.
Can a parent access the portal for the student?
Yes. A parent can complete the login and manage the portal, but the student’s official school email address must be used.
The verification code is sent to the student’s RemoteLearning.School email inbox.
Does each sibling have a separate portal?
Yes. Each student has an individual Certificate Portal connected to their own @remotelearning.school email address.
To view another child’s certificates, sign out and log back in using that student’s email address.
Do I need a separate Certificate Portal password?
The Certificate Portal uses a temporary email verification code rather than a traditional portal password.
You will still need the student’s email password to open their RemoteLearning.School inbox and retrieve the verification code.
Why Is My Student’s Certificate Portal Empty?
An empty portal usually has one of the following explanations.
The Student Has Not Completed an Eligible Course Yet
The portal will remain empty until the student completes their first eligible course and a certificate is issued.
Having started a course or completed only part of it will not create a certificate.
You Signed In With the Wrong Email Address
Confirm that you used the student’s official @remotelearning.school email address.
A parent email address will not display the student’s certificates. Using another sibling’s email will open that sibling’s portal instead. The troubleshooting guide identifies an incomplete course and signing in to the wrong student account as the two main reasons a portal may appear empty.
An Older Certificate Is Still Being Migrated
Certificates earned in previous school years are being migrated gradually from JuniorFolio into the Student Certificate Portal.
Some older certificates may not appear immediately. Once the migration is complete, both past and newly issued course certificates will be organized together in the new portal.
The Page Needs to Be Refreshed
If a certificate was recently issued:
- Refresh the portal page.
- Sign out and sign back in.
- Confirm that you are using the correct student account.
- Check the student’s school inbox for a certificate notification.
If the course is fully complete and the certificate still does not appear, contact us with the student and course information.
What If a Completed Course Certificate Is Missing?
First, confirm:
- The course has been fully completed
- The course is eligible for a certificate
- You are viewing the correct student’s portal
- The student’s name and email match the account used for the course
- The certificate is not from an earlier year that is still being migrated
Then refresh the portal or sign out and sign back in.
If the certificate still does not appear, contact us and include:
- The student’s full name
- The student’s @remotelearning.school email address
- The complete course name
- The approximate course completion date
- A screenshot showing that the course is complete
- A screenshot of the empty or incomplete Certificate Portal
I Never Received the Verification Code. What Should I Do?
Try these steps:
- Check the email address carefully.
Confirm that the student’s complete @remotelearning.school email address was entered without spelling errors. - Open the student’s school inbox.
The code is sent to the student’s RemoteLearning.School email account, not the parent’s personal inbox. - Check spam and junk folders.
Also check any promotions or filtered folders. - Wait a few minutes.
The code normally arrives quickly, but delivery can occasionally take longer. - Select Resend Code.
Use the resend option on the verification screen to request a new code.
If you request more than one code, use the newest code received. An earlier code may no longer work.
How Do I Open the Student’s RemoteLearning.School Inbox?
Go to:
Open RemoteLearning.School Webmail
Then:
- Enter the student’s complete @remotelearning.school email address.
- Enter the student email password.
- Select Log in.
- Make sure Open my inbox when I log in is checked.
- Select Open.
- Find the message containing the Certificate Portal verification code.
The student’s school inbox also receives notifications when new certificates are issued.
What If I Cannot Access the Student’s Email?
Confirm that you are using:
- The student’s full @remotelearning.school email address
- The correct student email password
- The RemoteLearning.School webmail page
- The correct capitalization in the password
The password is case-sensitive.
If you cannot locate the student email credentials or the login is not working, contact us and include:
- The parent email associated with the membership
- The student’s full name
- The student’s @remotelearning.school email address, if known
- A screenshot of the error message
Do not send the student’s password by email.
Why Does the Login Page Say “Credential Library”?
Some Certificate Portal login screens may refer to the site as Remote Learning School’s Credential Library.
This is the correct Student Certificate Portal. Continue by selecting Login, followed by Login with Email.
The Verification Code Says It Is Incorrect or Expired
Try the following:
- Make sure all six digits were entered correctly.
- Use the newest code if you requested more than one.
- Request another code using Resend Code.
- Enter the new code promptly after receiving it.
- Confirm that the code came from the same student email address you entered in the portal.
- Refresh the login page and try again.
Do not use a verification code sent to another sibling’s account.
Why Am I Seeing the Wrong Student’s Certificates?
You are probably signed in using another sibling’s school email address.
To switch students:
- Sign out of the current Certificate Portal account.
- Return to the portal homepage.
- Select Account.
- Select Login, followed by Login with Email.
- Enter the correct student’s @remotelearning.school email address.
- Retrieve the new verification code from that student’s inbox.
- Enter the code and select Verify.
Each sibling’s certificates, profile photo, banner, and bio remain separate.
Why Did My Profile Changes Not Save?
After updating the student’s profile photo, cover image, bio, or LinkedIn link, you must select Apply Changes.
The personalization guide specifically requires selecting the blue Apply Changes button to save the updated profile.
If the changes still do not appear:
- Refresh the page.
- Confirm that you are signed in to the correct student account.
- Reopen the profile editor.
- Upload the image or enter the information again.
- Select Apply Changes.
- Sign out and sign back in.
If an image will not upload, try a different image file or browser.
Why Is the Student’s Profile Photo or Banner Cropped?
The profile photo is displayed in a circular area, while the cover image is displayed as a wide horizontal banner.
For better results:
- Use a clear photo with the student centered
- Avoid placing the student’s face too close to the image edge
- Use a wide image for the cover banner
- Avoid important text near the edge of the banner
- Preview the image before saving
- Try another crop if an important part is hidden
Select Apply Changes after uploading the replacement.
Why Won’t the Certificate Download?
From the certificate detail page, select Download Credential.
The available formats include:
- Certificate Image
- Certificate PDF
- QR code
If the file does not download, try:
- Selecting the download option again.
- Checking the device’s Downloads folder.
- Allowing downloads in the browser.
- Trying the PDF instead of the image, or the image instead of the PDF.
- Refreshing the page.
- Trying another modern browser.
- Trying another device.
If a browser window opens with the certificate instead of saving it, use the browser’s download or save button.
Why Is the Certificate Cut Off When I Print It?
Open the print preview and check the settings before printing.
Try:
- Landscape orientation
- Fit to Page
- Fit to Printable Area
- Shrink to Printable Area
- A slightly reduced print scale
- Printing from the PDF instead of the image
Make sure the entire certificate border appears in the preview before selecting Print.

How do I download and print my student’s certificate?
Why Does the Certificate QR Code Open the Wrong Page?
There are two different types of QR codes:
Student Portal QR Code
This links to the student’s complete profile and certificate collection.
Individual Certificate QR Code
This links to one specific certificate.
If the wrong page opens, confirm that you downloaded the QR code from the correct location.
To share one certificate:
- Open that certificate’s detail page.
- Select Download Credential.
- Download the QR code listed for that certificate.
To share the complete portal, use Download QR from the student’s main profile page.
Why Does a Shared Certificate Link Not Work?
Try these steps:
- Open the link yourself in a new browser tab.
- Make sure the complete web address was copied.
- Confirm that no characters were removed when pasting it.
- Copy the URL again directly from the certificate page.
- Try sending the certificate QR code instead.
- Ask the recipient to try another browser.
- Confirm that you shared the individual certificate page rather than a portal editing or login page.
The sharing guide allows families to send a direct certificate link, share a QR code, post to Facebook, or provide the connected course syllabus.
Why Can’t Someone Verify the Certificate?
Each certificate can be accessed using:
- Its direct link
- Its individual QR code
- Its unique Certificate ID
If the certificate cannot be found:
- Enter the Certificate ID exactly as shown.
- Remove spaces before or after the ID.
- Check that no letters or numbers were omitted.
- Try the direct certificate link.
- Scan the certificate QR code.
- Refresh the verification page.
- Try another browser.
After opening the certificate, select Verify Credential to confirm the student name, issuing organization, issue date, and certificate status.
Older certificates may not yet be searchable if they are still being migrated from JuniorFolio.
Why Does the Verify Credential Button Not Open?
General browser troubleshooting may help:
- Refresh the certificate page.
- Allow pop-up windows for the Certificate Portal.
- Disable browser extensions that may block windows.
- Try another modern browser.
- Sign out and sign back in.
- Try another device.
If the button still does not respond, contact us with the certificate link, Certificate ID, device, browser, and a screenshot.
Why Is the Add to LinkedIn Button Missing?
First, confirm that:
- You opened the individual certificate detail page
- The certificate has been fully issued
- You are signed in to the correct student account
- The page has finished loading
Then try refreshing the page, signing out and back in, or using another browser.
The Add to LinkedIn button should open options to add the certificate to the student’s profile, share it to the feed, or do both.
LinkedIn is primarily intended for older students and graduates.
Why Does the LinkedIn Window Not Open?
A browser setting may be blocking the sharing window.
Try:
- Signing in to LinkedIn first.
- Returning to the Certificate Portal.
- Allowing pop-ups for the site.
- Selecting Add to LinkedIn again.
- Trying another browser.
- Trying another device.
Check the student’s LinkedIn profile before trying repeatedly so you do not create duplicate entries.
What If the Student’s Name or Certificate Information Is Incorrect?
Do not edit the downloaded certificate yourself.
Contact us and include:
- The student’s correct full name
- The student’s @remotelearning.school email address
- The course name
- The Certificate ID
- A screenshot showing the incorrect information
- The correct information that should appear
The online record should be corrected so the certificate, download, and verification information remain consistent.
Can I Change the Name on a Certificate Through Profile Personalization?
No. Changing the profile bio, photo, banner, or other personalization does not change the official information on an issued certificate.
If the student’s name or course information is incorrect, contact us so the certificate record can be reviewed.
Can I Delete a Certificate?
Certificates are intended to provide a permanent record of completed coursework and do not expire.
If a certificate was issued incorrectly or contains an error, contact us rather than trying to remove or alter the record yourself.
Are Older JuniorFolio Certificates Still Available?
Older certificates are being migrated into the Student Certificate Portal.
The migration is being completed gradually, so some past certificates may not yet appear. Once the process is complete, current and past certificates will be available together in the new system.
Do I Have to Personalize or Share the Portal?
No. Personalization and sharing are optional.
The student can still receive, view, download, print, and verify certificates without adding a profile photo, cover image, bio, or LinkedIn link.
The portal is private by default. Your family decides whether to share the complete student profile or an individual certificate.
What Information Should I Include When Contacting Support?

- The parent’s full name
- The parent email associated with the membership
- The student’s full name
- The student’s @remotelearning.school email address
- The course or certificate name
- The Certificate ID, when available
- A clear explanation of the problem
