How do I share my student’s certificates?

12 min. readlast update: 08.23.2026

The Homeschool Pro Student Certificate Portal makes it easy to share a student’s achievements with relatives, evaluators, homeschool co-ops, or anyone else who needs to see completed coursework.

You can choose to share:

  • The student’s complete Certificate Portal, including their profile and certificate collection
  • One individual certificate without sharing the rest of the student’s portal
  • A direct web link
  • A scannable QR code
  • A certificate on Facebook
  • An eligible certificate on LinkedIn for an older student

You remain in control of what you share and who receives it.

See How Sharing Can Make an Achievement More Meaningful

Sharing a certificate is not only useful for recordkeeping. It can also help students feel that their hard work has been noticed and celebrated.

In this video, a Homeschool Pro student proudly shows his printed certificate after completing a course. His mother shares the certificate on Facebook so his grandmother can see what he accomplished. Grandma responds that she is proud of him and even plans to send him a small gift, making the achievement feel especially meaningful to the student.

See how one Homeschool Pro family shares a student’s certificate with Grandma and turns course completion into a proud family moment.

Certificates can be shared in different ways for different purposes. A family may post one achievement on social media, send another privately to a relative, or provide a verified certificate and course syllabus to an evaluator.

Before You Begin

Sign in to the Student Certificate Portal using the student’s official @remotelearning.school email address:

Open the Student Certificate Portal

Each student has their own portal. Make sure you are signed in to the correct student’s account before sharing a profile or certificate.

For complete login instructions, see:

How do I access the Student Certificate Portal?

Should I Share the Entire Portal or One Certificate?

Before sharing, decide how much information the recipient needs.

Share the Complete Portal When:

  • You want a relative to see several student achievements
  • You want to share the student’s full certificate collection
  • You want someone to see the student’s personalized profile
  • You are creating one convenient link for a portfolio or family record
  • You want the recipient to be able to browse multiple certificates

The complete profile may include the student’s:

  • Profile photo
  • Cover image
  • Bio
  • Certificate collection
  • Other profile information your family has added

Share One Certificate When:

  • You are celebrating one specific course
  • An evaluator needs documentation for one subject
  • You want to post one achievement on social media
  • You do not want to share the student’s complete profile
  • A college, employer, co-op, or another organization requests one credential

Sharing one individual certificate is usually the better choice when the recipient does not need to see the student’s entire portal.

How Do I Share the Student’s Complete Certificate Portal?

There are two main ways to share the complete profile:

  1. Send the student’s direct Certificate Portal link.
  2. Download and share the portal QR code.

Option 1: Share the Complete Portal Link

While viewing the student’s main Certificate Portal profile:

  1. Select the web address in your browser’s address bar.
  2. Copy the complete URL.
  3. Paste the link into an email, text message, private message, document, or another location.
  4. Send it to the intended recipient.

The link directs the recipient to the student’s complete shared profile page.

You might use the profile link when sharing with:

  • Grandparents or other relatives
  • A homeschool evaluator
  • A co-op or educational organization
  • Someone helping maintain the student’s records
  • A trusted family friend
  • A portfolio reviewer

Privacy reminder: The complete portal link may display the student’s profile photo, cover image, bio, and all certificates listed on the page. Review the profile before sharing it.

Option 2: Share the Complete Portal QR Code

A QR code provides a scannable link to the student’s complete portal.

To download it:

  1. Open the student’s main Certificate Portal profile.
  2. Select the blue Download QR button near the top of the page.
  3. Save the QR code image to your device.
  4. Send, print, or insert the QR code wherever needed.

Anyone scanning the QR code will be directed to the student’s shared portal page.

Select Download QR on the student’s profile to save a scannable code linking to the complete Certificate Portal.

Select Download QR on the student’s profile to save a scannable code linking to the complete Certificate Portal.

The portal QR code may be useful for:

  • A printed homeschool portfolio
  • A student achievement binder
  • A graduation display
  • A family newsletter
  • A digital portfolio
  • A presentation or project
  • Sharing several certificates through one scannable link

How Do I Share One Specific Certificate?

To share only one achievement:

  1. Find the certificate on the student’s portal.
  2. Select See Details below the certificate.
  3. The individual certificate page will open.
  4. Choose the sharing method that best fits your purpose.

From the individual certificate page, you can:

  • Copy and send the direct certificate link
  • Download the certificate QR code
  • Share the certificate on Facebook
  • Provide access to the attached course syllabus
  • Add an eligible certificate to LinkedIn for an older student

Option 1: Send the Direct Certificate Link

The simplest way to share one certificate privately is to send its direct web address.

  1. Open the certificate’s detail page.
  2. Select the complete URL in the browser address bar.
  3. Copy the link.
  4. Paste it into an email, text message, or private message.
  5. Send it to the intended recipient.

The recipient will be taken directly to that certificate rather than the student’s complete profile.

A direct certificate link can be useful for:

  • A grandparent or relative
  • A homeschool evaluator
  • A portfolio reviewer
  • A co-op
  • A tutor
  • An internship coordinator
  • A college or educational program
  • Another organization requesting course documentation

Option 2: Share the Certificate QR Code

Each certificate has its own QR code.

To download it:

  1. Open the individual certificate page.
  2. Select Download Credential.
  3. Find QR in the expanded menu.
  4. Select the download icon beside it.
  5. Save the QR code to your device.

Anyone who scans the code will be taken directly to the certificate’s online record.

Download the certificate QR code to provide a scannable link to one specific achievement.

A certificate QR code can be added to:

  • A printed portfolio
  • A student resume
  • A presentation
  • A homeschool evaluation packet
  • A project display
  • A graduation announcement
  • A digital document

The QR code supplements the certificate. It does not replace the downloadable certificate image or PDF.

Option 3: Share a Certificate on Facebook

The individual certificate page includes a Facebook sharing button.

To use it:

  1. Open the certificate’s detail page.
  2. Select the Facebook icon near the certificate.
  3. Sign in to Facebook if prompted.
  4. Review the post before publishing.
  5. Add a personal message about the student’s achievement.
  6. Choose the audience for the post.
  7. Publish when ready.

The Facebook sharing option makes it easy to celebrate with relatives, family friends, and loved ones.

Select the Facebook icon on an individual certificate page to share the student’s achievement.

A short message might say:

Congratulations to our student for completing 4th Grade Math with Homeschool Pro! We are very proud of the hard work and progress represented by this certificate.

Before posting, review the Facebook audience setting and decide whether the post should be visible publicly, to friends, or only to selected people.

Sharing Privately With Relatives

You do not have to post the certificate publicly to celebrate it.

For private sharing, you can:

  • Text the direct certificate link
  • Email the certificate link
  • Send the certificate image or PDF
  • Send the QR code
  • Share the link through a private family group
  • Show the printed certificate during a video call
  • Print a second copy for a grandparent

Private sharing can still create a meaningful moment for the student without placing the achievement on a public social media profile.

Sharing With an Evaluator or for a Portfolio

For academic documentation, sharing an individual certificate is usually more focused than sharing the student’s complete profile.

The certificate page provides:

  • The student’s name
  • The completed course
  • The issuing organization
  • The issue date
  • A unique Certificate ID
  • Online verification
  • A link to the full course syllabus

Evaluators can scroll down on the certificate page to view or download the attached syllabus, which provides supporting documentation for the coursework completed.

When sharing with an evaluator, consider providing:

  1. The direct certificate link
  2. The certificate PDF
  3. The attached course syllabus
  4. Any additional work samples or records required in your location

The Certificate Portal provides documentation, but families remain responsible for meeting any specific portfolio, evaluation, or reporting requirements that apply under their state’s homeschool laws.

Can Older Students Share Certificates on LinkedIn?

Yes. Eligible certificates can be added to LinkedIn for older students and graduates.

On an individual certificate page, select Add to LinkedIn. The sharing window may allow the student to:

  • Add the credential permanently to their LinkedIn profile
  • Share the achievement to their LinkedIn feed
  • Do both

The student can also write a short post explaining what they completed, the skills they developed, or how the course relates to their future goals.

For complete instructions, see:

How can high school students add certificates to LinkedIn?

What Is the Difference Between the Portal QR Code and Certificate QR Code?

The two QR codes lead to different pages.

Portal QR Code

The portal QR code links to the student’s complete shared profile and certificate collection.

Use it when you want someone to see several achievements in one place.

Portal QR code

Certificate QR Code

The certificate QR code links to one individual credential.

Use it when you want to share only one course completion record.

Certificate QR code

Before sending a QR code, scan it with your own phone to confirm that it opens the page you intended to share.

Does Sharing a Certificate Change It?

No. Sharing, downloading, or printing a certificate does not remove it from the portal or change its online record.

The certificate remains available for future:

  • Viewing
  • Verification
  • Downloading
  • Printing
  • Sharing

Certificates do not expire and remain accessible in the Student Certificate Portal.

Can the Recipient Verify the Certificate?

Yes. Each certificate includes a unique Certificate ID and can be verified online.

The recipient can:

  1. Open the certificate page through the direct link or QR code.
  2. Select Verify Credential.
  3. Review the verification window.

The verification display confirms information such as:

  • The credential name
  • The issuing organization
  • The student’s name
  • The issue date
  • The current certificate status

A certificate can also be located manually by entering its Certificate ID into the search field on the Certificate Portal homepage.

For complete instructions, see:

How does certificate verification work?

What Should We Review Before Sharing?

Before sharing the complete portal or an individual certificate, check:

  • That you are signed in to the correct student’s account
  • That the student’s name is spelled correctly
  • That the course title is correct
  • That the intended certificate is being shared
  • That the profile photo and bio are appropriate for the recipient
  • That no unnecessary personal information appears in the student’s bio
  • That the link or QR code opens correctly

If sharing publicly, review the student’s personalized profile first. The portal is private by default and is shared only when your family chooses, so you control when the student’s achievements become available to others.

Never include the student’s email password or temporary portal verification code when sharing a certificate.

Can I Share Certificates for More Than One Student?

Yes, but each student has their own Certificate Portal.

To share another student’s certificates:

  1. Sign out of the current account.
  2. Sign in using the other student’s official @remotelearning.school email address.
  3. Open that student’s portal or certificate.
  4. Copy the correct link or download the appropriate QR code.

Make sure the link, certificate, and student name all match before sending them.

What If a Shared Link Does Not Work?

Try the following:

  1. Open the link yourself in a new browser tab.
  2. Confirm that the complete URL was copied.
  3. Make sure no characters were removed when the link was pasted.
  4. Copy the link again directly from the certificate page.
  5. Try sharing the certificate QR code instead.
  6. Ask the recipient to try another browser.
  7. Confirm that you shared the individual certificate page rather than an unrelated portal page.

If the problem continues, please contact us and include:

  • The student’s full name
  • The student’s @remotelearning.school email address
  • The certificate name
  • The Certificate ID
  • The link you attempted to share
  • A screenshot of any error message

What If the Certificate Information Is Incorrect?

Do not publicly share the certificate until the information has been reviewed.

Please contact us and include:

  • The student’s full name
  • The student’s @remotelearning.school email address
  • The course name
  • The Certificate ID
  • A screenshot showing the incorrect information
  • The correct information that should appear

Do not edit the downloaded certificate yourself. The correction should also appear on the online certificate and verification record.

The Bottom Line

You can share either the student’s complete Certificate Portal or one individual course certificate.

To share the complete portal:

  1. Copy the student’s profile URL, or
  2. Select Download QR and share the portal QR code.

To share one certificate:

  1. Select See Details under the certificate.
  2. Copy the certificate URL, download its QR code, or select the Facebook button.
  3. For older students, use Add to LinkedIn where appropriate.
  4. Share the attached course syllabus when supporting academic documentation is needed.

The portal gives families several ways to celebrate student achievements and provide verified records while remaining in control of what is shared.
